I read in 1 Cor. 5 this morning the ‘sins’ that would cause the expulsion from a congregation. If that was enforced, church membership would drop 80% in my opinion.
Yes! Love it!
true true…how often we judge when we should show grace? and we forget the grace given to us! Jesus in John 15 said:– 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
…i love it when He says that we are His friends and we are to love as we have been loved.be blessed!-Stephen
Awesome my friend. I believe thinking like this can help us all get to heaven because it is the TRUTH!!!! Love, sheila
@Thebraziliandude - Most people know a level of Love for something.. I give Love a capital L, its that important!
@HUMOR_ME_NOW - I meant no disrespect but my bible tells me… God is LOVE and I’ve seen people being mean and I just think isn’t the church for everybody straight or gay?!
I’m not really arguing with this post but I want to make one correction where the pastor says there’s no consequence for homosexuality.
In Leviticus 20:13 it says – If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
The bible also says in I Cor. 6:9-10 that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. I agree that we shouldn’t single out homosexuality over other sins, but the fact remains that it is a sin. And many homosexuals fail to acknowledge that it’s a sin. Someone that commits adultery will usually acknowledge that it’s a sin and try not to commit that sin again. When Jesus talked to the woman caught in adultery, what did he say to her? He said – “Go and sin no more.” So this would apply to homosexuals also. Jesus would say – “Don’t commit that sin anymore.” So, I just wanted to point that out.
@musterion99 - You are not wrong dear, It’s a sin but its sinners like us ‘who need the grace of god, the women at the well was transformed by the grace of god that empowered her to sin no more. Personally, I feel gays are shunned out a lot and its difficult for them being accepted because of erroneous thinking.. Jesus died to make the unrighteous righteous.. He has sanctified and redeemed us. The church is our resting place, how would they ever know who and what grace is for them to be saved if they are not accepted in the first place.
Amen
yeah, I can’t imagine — but I can’t judge either… it really is none of my business and I like it that way
