As some of you may know, i teach primary school science and mathematics, being a teacher, i get parents asking me if their kids needs tutoring and "really it depends on your kids progress".
Every child is different, some needs a little push, esp with a linear subject like Maths, the need for intervention is absolutely necessary.
You cannot just depend on the teacher and expect your kid to be a genius, children needs extra coaxing at home too.
If the child is already struggling with a particular mathematical concept, it's gonna be a struggle to master advance mathematical concepts or formula.
Just because, a child received poor grades in school or shows no interest in the subject doesn't mean he or she is inadequate, it just means, the subject is boring and this is when you child needs a tutor and equips the child with knowledge as they are trained to and make the subject as interesting as possible.
My parents took it up a notch and bought those expensive brain booster milkshakes that came in many flavour that tasted yucky for me to drink when i was young not like it helped me in maths...
I never really enjoyed mathematics and wasn't my strongest subject either but i only got better because of the tutoring i received and not some brain booster milkshake..:P lol
